Inmate messaging apps are the best way to keep in touch with a loved one or friend who is currently in jail. These apps are designed to be in compliance with prison regulations and permit family and friends to send messages, pictures videos, eCards, video calls and money to their prison trust federl inmate texting account. In addition to these messaging apps, there are several federal inmate applications that provide additional services, such as video visits and phone calls.
JPay for instance, allows family and friends to transfer money directly to an inmate's trust account. It also allows emails, photos, videograms, and electronic cards. It also lets them design personalized postcards featuring personal photos. It's a more secure, more secure alternative to postal mail.
Another popular texting app for prisoners is GettingOut. It allows "simple, secure communication" between inmates with their loved family members. The app is available at select correctional facilities, and allows inmates to text inmate upload pictures and message friends and family via their tablets. Inmates pay $0.25 per message and their loved ones pay the data costs to access them (but there are no explicit images). The GettingOut app can be used for uploading photos to Facebook or Foursquare or check-in on Foursquare and then add a YouTube video.
